Drawing of Moses sculpture

A4, pencil and fine-liner on paper

Completed in June this year, when I was first reviving my art habit after four years of neglect while I was at university. This was a ‘warm-up’ piece I spent roughly about 12 hours on. Reference taken from a second-hand book of Michelangelo’s sculptures I found in Halcyon Books, Lee High Road, London. There’s a lovely sensitivity to drawing skin and fabric with pencil. The fine-liner adds a definition and blackness that pencil usually lacks. Pleased with this work as an expression in the medium(s) I am most confident in: pen and/or pencil. However, I know I need to challenge myself and branch out… watch this space!
