Acrylic painting: jellyfish

Acrylic paint on paper

I am slowly developing my acrylic painting technique. In the past I used to be sloppy when it came to controlling the outlines of the subjects I painted, and I denigrated clean, clear lines as ‘less artistic’. I also used to be lazy about changing the size of my brush. Now I realise a good painting is a balance of clean and blended lines. In this piece I made especial effort to keep the jellyfish ‘fronds’ sharply defined.
